At this age, children begin to understand rules, share with peers, and express their feelings. Our teachers guide these milestones with warmth and structure, helping every child learn how to collaborate, communicate, and care for themselves and others.
The Emergent Curriculum Approach
In the Explorers Classroom, learning unfolds through an emergent curriculum, a research-based approach that follows each child’s interests and ideas. Teachers observe, listen, and adapt lessons to make learning meaningful and relevant. Whether your child is fascinated by dinosaurs, weather, or building towers, those interests drive each week’s activities.

By age four, many Explorers can express their ideas in full sentences, recognize letters and numbers, follow multi-step directions, and play cooperatively. These are all essential skills for kindergarten readiness and lifelong learning.
